In a 1970s building in Wan Chai, just steps from the Victoria Harbour, The Fleming Hotel reemerges as a 66-room boutique destination that speaks to Hong Kong itself. Once opened in 2006, we reimagined the architecture, interiors, products, and identity—a layered narrative where history, place, and culture converge. Every detail reflects the city, past and present, inviting guests to inhabit a space where Hong Kong’s identity is felt as much as it is seen.
The design draws from the city's maritime heritage and industrious energy of the 1970s, creating a character at once cultural, social, and efficient. Central to this story is the Star Ferry, a century-old icon that has connected people across the harbour and woven itself into Hong Kong’s collective memory. Its elegance and enduring presence became a guiding influence, shaping custom furniture, lighting, and the rhythms of the interiors.

A sense of nostalgia threads through the space, carried by colors and scents: carmine reds and bottle greens echo the hulls of ferries, fishing boats, and temples.

Apothecary-inspired toiletries and a bespoke aroma of sandalwood and amber imbue the hotel with a tangible sense of place.

The pencil and pen design draws from the waterline, where a ship's hull meets the surface. Each marking carries its own meaning.
